Norman CivicNet intends
that all citizens in the Norman area will have access
to the information resources they need to help make
the region a better place to learn, live, grow and
prosper. CivicNet is an organized web of information
services using technology to benefit all Cleveland
County citizens. The NCN provides on-line access to
local and national information for the general populace
in order to promote civic participation, educational
excellence, economic vitality, and community involvement.
The Norman CivicNet
is a diverse, cooperative effort involving educational,
civic, and corporate entities.
information on topics ranging from city and county
government regulations and meetings, lifelong learning
opportunities, district school and university information,
calendar of events, and health services, etc. Access
is also provided to library catalogs, listings of
corporate facts, medical information, and other repositories.
Information resources from the Internet are available
to community users through public access workstations
at the Norman Public Library and a Kiosk in the Sooner
Fashion Mall. One goal of Norman CivicNet is to place
more public access stations throughout the city.
